I use it on a Centos 7, php 5.4.16 (server side) and php 7.2.4 (sensors side), apache 2.4.6 and ModSecurity 2.9.2 and managed to get it working after I perfomed the changes I presented here:

Running on Centos 7 w/ Sensors having ModSec 2.9.2 on Apache 2.4.6
