CodeMirror har god støtte for Markdown. Eksempel: https://codemirror.net/try/?example=Markdown%20code%20block%20highlighting

Da får dere for eksempel syntax highlighting og litt redigeringshjelp.

Usikker på hvor lett det er å integrere med dagens kodebase. Sikkert en del jobb :)
