Steps to reproduce

  1. Install materialgram from Linux Mint 21.2 software manager, which interfaces with flathub.
  2. Launch materialgram
  3. Click on Start messaging

Expected behaviour

  1. QR code is shown to login
  2. If phone number login is chosen, after entering phone number and clicking Next, I should be taken to the next screen of the login process

Actual behaviour

  1. QR code is not shown, and the busy indicator keeps circling instead
  2. Upon clicking "Or log in using your phone number", entering my phone number, and clicking Next, nothing happens

Operating system

Linux Mint 21.2 Cinnamon

Version of Telegram Desktop

4.13.1.1 (latest version currently available on flathub)

Installation source

Flatpak

Crash ID

No response

Logs

It seems telegram can't go to the internet for some reason. I encountered this once (also on linux mint) after a reboot after downloading.
and after another reboot everything started working again. honestly don't know why this can happen since nothing about the internet was changed

Thanks for that. Really strange indeed. Mine unfortunately isn't working even after multiple reboots :-(

Okay, I just did some testing, and I found that the materialgram flatpak needs to be run with the socket=system-bus permission for it to work.
