Hi @magnush , remember when we discussed about an issue with using the "effects box" which was turning a French locale GUI into a partly-translated English GUI? We've been discussing that back in the Gna times I think, hence I cannot find the discussion back since it's out of the web now (didn't try the wayback machine).

Anyway, I've discovered how to reproduce the bug and what is nailed down more precisely the issue which is triggered by the blop culprit package. You can find a precise description on this Debian bug report.

Hope that helps

Hi!

Thanks for the heads up...

Since a very long time there is a workaround in mhwaveedit for LADSPA plugins switching the LC_NUMERIC setting (if I remember I think it was messing up some parsing functions in mhwaveedit), but the language settings in general is not covered.. This could be expanded, however I'm not that familiar with i18n functions and I try to touch them as little as possible.. patches welcome..

But yeah it's a really nasty habit for plugins to mess with the locale without restoring it properly and it should not be done to begin with.

Thanks for the quick answer @magnush .
Unfortunately, I'm not a programmer, hence, I hope someone will stand up with a patch here!
All the best to you, and thanks again for this nice piece of libre software 👍
