🛠️ State of maintenance #135

So that means that this app is dead and won't get any updates/upgrades for compatibility with newer NC versions? |
Cool to hear that you are close to deploying Nextcloud for your organization! I can imagine it must be annoying for you if you are relying upon this app. Unfortunately it is true, my own maintenance efforts for this app are stopping, which is why I am warning people who might be affected through this note. If there is a strong business case for any development of this app, the Nextcloud GmbH ( https://nextcloud.com/enterprise/ ) will consider your wishes for the roadmap. Please contact your account manager to talk about the possibilities, or if you are not a customer yet, get in contact via https://nextcloud.com/get-a-quote/ |
As I have written a mail some days ago (april) to Nextcloud (via contact form) and have never heard back from them to me it seems that this extension is seen as unuseful and won't get updated anymore. |
It does work on 27. You just need to enable untested app. For how long idk. |
I just figured out that this app is default functionality on NC 27 (seen here for the first time by me). |
This doesn't quite seem to give the same full functionality. As what you describe shows notifications and only seemingly for "public" links. This does not contribute to the "Activity" stream for all Shares in the Activity section (so far as I can tell) so you cannot retroactively review the history of such activity. So this is not default behaviour to a sufficient degree, and is not "on" by default so far as I can tell also. |
While there are many things that could be done to further improve this app, this app is currently not maintained. This means:
I would be more than excited, if you would like to collaborate with me as a co-maintainers or welcome anyone to even fully take over the app.
