I feel like learning the windows console, qt, git, and installing 10gb of visual studio to use 2 of its components + GIT + QT for Windows + all of its requirements, just to be able to view JPEG XL files in the nomacs image viewer, is a bit too much

You can use AppVeyor website to build nomacs automatically. You just wait 42 minutes and the fresh build is ready for download on AppVeyor.

Right now you can download nomacs-setup-x64.msi installer from https://ci.appveyor.com/project/novomesk/nomacs/build/artifacts

Artifacts will be auto-removed after 30days by AppVeyor.

Can you make another installer?

Hello, I've tried installing nomacs from https://github.com/nomacs/nomacs/releases/tag/3.17.2282 , I also tried the newer version https://github.com/nomacs/nomacs/releases/tag/3.17.2287 (3.17.2289)
I also tried downloading the file qjpegxl.dll from https://github.com/novomesk/qt-jpegxl-image-plugin/releases/tag/v0.6.0
And put it in C:\Program Files\nomacs\bin\imageformats
But each time I try to open a .jxr file it doesn't open.
The image opens find with "Photo"
Any idea please ?

This plugin is for opening JXL, not JXR.

Maybe https://photoqt.org/ is able to open JXR files.
