The "@nx/angular" plugin doesn't yet support the existing TypeScript setup

Current Behavior

add nx/angular plugin and get The "@nx/angular" plugin doesn't yet support the existing TypeScript setup. Searched for open issue to track the progress of this issue but could not find it. Is there a workaround?

Expected Behavior

nx plugin should work with latest nx repository. NOTE workspace was setup with stack - none
