It would be great to be able to handle multiple databases (maybe each of them which a dedicated search string configured).

Good one, thanks for the suggestion. What value of "multiple" would work for you? Is 2 enough? 3?

personally, at the moment 3 is sufficient for me, but I wonder why you ask - why is a limit neccessary ?

I'm just thinking about the user experience:

  • separate unlocks of databases (with separate expirations)
  • at least 2 extra preference fields per database (keyword, database path)
  • should have a way to refer to different databases by name (when asking for password unlock, when showing error messages etc)

Just on the preference page alone, adding more than 2 additional databases is probably a non-starter.

And if those extra databases aren't tied to ulauncher keywords, then we'll need extra query syntax to specify which DB you need to search etc. Makes the whole thing complicated.

I'm looking at it. Will report back when I have something. In the meantime, if you have thoughts about UX for this, please share.
