This year’s conference has adopted an online format, and we are offering aid to help lower some technical barriers to conference participation.
In the Philipplines, one of the biggest barriers to accessing online content is obtaining Internet accesss especially now that traditional venues (Internet shops, cafés, schools, offices) remain inaccessible due to Covid-19 restrictions.
To ensure Internet access to participants of PnM20, Internet Access Grants (IAG) will be given to approved applicants based in the Philippines
- Resident of the Philippines
- Philippine prepaid SIM number (for phone, pocket wifi or “Home WiFi”)
- Has not been disqualified from a previous IAG tranche
- Participants must fill-in the application form, and answer questions to determine their profile
- To receive a final “bonus” tranche, grant recipients whose records show them attending all three conference sessions only need to complete a feedback form.

For Globe/TM/Smart/Sun/TNT prepaid users, there will be 3 tranches, plus a bonus tranche if they qualify
- Globe/TM - GoSurf50 or equivalent, valid for 3 days
- Smart/Sun/TNT - Gigasurf50 or equivalent, valid for 3 days

For “home Wifi” packages, two tranches of the following, plus a bonus tranche, if they qualify
- PLDT FamLoad - FamLoad 199, valid for 7 days
- Globe Homesurf - HomeSURF199, valid for 7 days
- SmartBro - SurfMax200, valid for 7 days

Apart from public announcements of the names of grantees, all applicants will receive an email about the status of their application before 13th November.

The 1st tranche is going to be awarded on or before the start of the first session on 13th November, to the mobile number they indicated on their application form
- if they fulfill the attendance requirement from a previous session, the suceeding tranche will be automatically awarded on or before the start of the next session,
- a bonus tranche will be awarded to those who complete all three sessions (sessions for 13th, 20th, 27th November), after completing a feedback form.

The grant application is open to residents of the Philippines, but the Organizers may elect to disallow participation according to its own considerations.

Internet Access Grant recipients are expected to use their grants to obtain appropriate internet service to enable them to participate in the 2020 Pista ng Mapa online conference proceedings.

The Organizers reserves the right to disqualify any application if, in the Organizer’s sole discretion, it reasonably believes that the applicant has attempted to undermine the process of the grant through cheating, deception, or other unfair practices.

Applications are void if they are in whole or part illegible, incomplete, damaged, altered, counterfeit, obtained through fraudulent means, or late. The Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant who makes a submission that does not adhere to all requirements.

Members of the Organizing Committees (and their immediate families and members of the same household) are not eligible for a grant.

The Organizer reserves the right to verify eligibility and to adjudicate on any dispute at any time. If you provide any false information relating to the application concerning your identity, residency, telephone number, e-mail address, or information required for applying for a grant, you may be immediately disqualified from the process.

Organizers may use the data you provide to (1) verify whether you are eligible to enter the competition; (2) generate the statistics information of your demographics, based on anonymized data; (3) deal with your queries in connection with the competition or any prize you win; (4) to determine or name grant recipients.

Organizers are committed to protecting your personal data; however, please note that no security measure is perfect. The organizers will keep your personally identifiable information for a period of one year after the grant application process closes.
