I suspect we can't easily. The comment application is hosted on openshift and we can't install a smtp relay or anything here. So either we start to use a hosted solution to send mail, or we move the application outside of openshift v2. |
I get these notifications, they don't work per-author, and this project that we're using to host them has been unmaintained for a couple years now... https://github.com/phusion/juvia |
I am surprised, how does it send email as I tought this was blocked on openshift ? |
It does send email. The gear is at comment-osasteam.rhcloud.com -- I think you should have access to it. |
Aha. How do I get an account there? I'd like to set up notifications. |
Ok, seems I was not up to date on openshift v2: https://blog.openshift.com/outbound-mail-ports-are-now-open-for-business-on-openshift/ I was still under the idea that we did limit port 25 to avoid spam. |
I do not have access, but it seems someone (I guess Jason) created a account, as I can see you in the db. |
I meant access to the gear. I can create an account for you on the app, but it's not much use since each site can only have one owner and only the owner gets updates. Josh and I are figuring out an alias to point to. |
I asked @jberkus and he does not get notifications for posted comments. I didn't get a notification for a comment posted to this article so I never saw it.
Since the comments are an opportunity for us to engage with our community we should definitely be monitoring them better.
