It would be nice to be able to favorite other nodes in the browser tree not just folders. Being able to favorite a database connection would be quite handy.

Agreed! Also the possibility to add single, frequently used datasets to the Favourits would be useful!

Another approach will be to have the current view (the folders, db connection etc. that you have accessed) of the browser to be saved in the QGIS project file so the browser setting will be reset when opening a project.

I wanted to add my vote that this would be quite useful to have. As we use more server-based data and basemaps, it would be so helpful to be able o add these to favourites for quick access.

It would also be great if you have the ability to customize the favourites sections with some sections/folders to organize things. These would not be actual folders on a drive but containers to organize your favourites by topic/theme (e.g. basemaps, baseline data, sensor data ...)
