What happened?

I've opened batocera to check out how it showed and wanted to get back to simplemenu but it doesn't let me.

Wait, I found this addressed in a different thread: "In apps section (or ports) of emulationstation you have the simple menu to launch and stay." Phew!

Oddly, ES on mine does not have this SimpleMenu option.
I’ve flashed Koriki twice because of this.
It’s frustrating to say the least. But a fairly minor inconvenience
