WFS province East-Flanders, layer 'Invasieve_uitheemse_soorten' will not be updated anymore #106
Comments
Hi @filipmahieu 👋 Thanks for letting us know about this. I will transfer this issue to https://github.com/riparias/pov-ias-plants-occurrences as I think it concerns that specific dataset. I will give you an answer after the transfer. |
Ok, thanks. I noticed indeed something strange as my automatic weekly fetch GitHub action was not harvesting any data.
Yes, of course. The GBIF dataset we published and weekly updated will be still online and so those data will be available on GBIF "forever" 😄 We will just disable the weekly auto publication on our side.
Great, we will then continue to update that dataset as usual. The new datasystem with the new WFS discussed in #98 will be only relevant for the fishes and crayfishes layer then? This is the only point it's not totally clear to me. Thanks. We will have to take care that the value |
There will be more kinds of plants and animals (e.g. waterplants, terrestric plants, animals captured by wildlife cameras). ObservationIdentifier will change however. I could give once a mapping from 'old to new identifier' howerver. |
Such a mapping from 'old to new identifier' would be great, thanks. It's great to hear that Province East Flanders will sensibly increase the number of published species on GBIF.
|
I don't know yet how many layers there will be. We'll have to figure out. |
Thansk @filipmahieu! Everything clear now! 👍 |
We don't update the data the layer 'Invasieve_uitheemse_soorten' in https://geodiensten.oost-vlaanderen.be/arcgis/services/MIL/Waarnemingen_Public/MapServer/WFSServer?request=GetCapabilities&service=WFS anymore.
IAS'es are now put directly in waarnemingen.be .
We will remove this layer from the WFS, but want the data still to be available in GBIF / Riparias. Can we hence stop without concern the layer, while the data will still be retrieved in GBIF / Riparias?
We still add data to the layer 'Vissen_en_crustacea'. Hopefully before summer we will publish the data in another WFS, as mentioned in #98 coming from another datasystem (gisib), but having (in other tables) the same effective content. In fact, in my opinion, the old data must then not be uploaded anymore, the new webservice-layer will replace it all.
