I often see region specific roms referred to as Clones; however, I noticed that the verbiage used in RomM is Duplicates. For example, when filtering for games with more than one region, the name of the filter is called Show Duplicates.

My initial expectation was that the filter would only show duplicated roms that are exactly the same. I didn't expect the filter to show a list of roms with clones. I don't truly know if the community truly refers to "clones" as "duplicates" these days, especially since I'm just now getting back into this scene after a very long hiatus. But if "clones" is still the correct term that everyone uses, then I think the following improvements could be made:

  • Keep the Show Duplicates filter, but show actual duplicates. For example, if the exact same rom exists, show them on the list. The duplicates could probably be determined by:
    • Roms that exist in two or more different directories
    • Roms having the same name and regions for a specific platform
  • Add a new Show Clones filter that behaves exactly the same way that Show Duplicates currently behaves
