[Question] Is ruffle legal to use? #19119
-
I am not sure exactly if this is the place for such a question but I don't really know where else to go. Is ruffle legal to use? The reason I as is because from what I understand, ruffle is a community made flash player and in order to make such a software most people end up reverse engineering the software they are trying to replicate which from my understanding is illegal without permission from the copyright holder. Has ruffle done anything like this? Sorry if this is a waste of time. |

Ruffle is created by re implementing Flash's functionality. This is more of a clean approach vs reverse engineering. |

The answer is yes, Ruffle is legal to use. As Parker stated, Ruffle is a clean-room reimplementation, created without decompiling Flash Player or violating any other laws or licenses. |

So, like recreating the result instead of opening up the code and trying to figure out how it works? |
