I ran into soke old code (I updated several versions of tintin and the script have artefacts from the older versions) and I ran into those 2 ways fo accessing variables/lists. I tried understanding what is teh diff but I failed!

so what is the diff between:
#foreach {*stats[]} {key} {
and
#foreach {$message[%*]} {tmp} {
