vscode-beancount error checking: Doesn't work when launching .AppImage (from nautilus), works when launching same AppImage from terminal #11

Bug Description:

vscode-beancount is used to show errors in beancount files. It works fine when launching the AppImage build from command line, but doesn't work at all when click-opening from nautilus/files on gnome linux.

Wondering if there's some sandboxing happening when launching the AppImage build from nautilus that prevents vscode-beancount from making whatever CLI call it needs to run beancount.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. try building appimage, compare running from terminal './applications/electron/dist/Beancolage.AppImage' vs. click-running beancolage.appImage

Additional Information

  • Operating System: Fedora
