On December 13th, several OpenRewrite recipes have gone through a license change from Apache 2.0 to either Moderne Source Available License or Moderne Proprietary License.

In particular, the rewrite-spring recipe package went from Apache 2.0 to Moderne Source Available License. How does this affect the OpenRewrite usage in the Spring Tools?

More information about the licenses: https://docs.openrewrite.org/licensing/repository-licensing

Details about why the change was done are in this Slack discussion: https://rewriteoss.slack.com/archives/C01A843MWG5/p1735295729466929?thread_ts=1735228710.998069&cid=C01A843MWG5

Thanks @ThomasVitale for pointing this out, much appreciated. We are aware and are looking into this. Newer versions of rewrite-spring being under the Moderne Source Available License most likely means that we will not be able to include that project anymore in the Spring Tools.

@ThomasVitale As soon as we have more clarity on this, we will let you know. Let's keep this issue open for that.
