How can I delete an empty column or row?

while creating new sections and rows is easy, I cannot see how I can delete an empty column of a row, which is also empty and return to a previous state, unless I have not saved the new changes so if I reload without saving I can return to the previous state ...

You can hover the row settings on the right and change the row's columns. Check the screenshot below, it may help you.

Thanks, however it apprently isn't always like this. For example in this case, see image, this control isn't available

Your screenshot shows one row with 3 full width columns, so the row's settings are those on the first one (on the slideshow's right)
