I’m a user of MGB and would like to suggest an improvement: adding support for PS/2 keyboards as an input method, similar to what LSDj offers.
Motivation
The ability to use a PS/2 keyboard would provide:
Ease of use: It would allow users to play notes directly without the need for complex setups like DAWs or Arduino-based systems.
Better live performance: It would improve the ability to improvise and play in real time, which is especially valuable for live shows.
Proposal
Add support for PS/2 keyboards via an adapter that connects the keyboard to the Game Boy’s input port, such as a modified link cable or a compatible accessory.
Impact
This feature would make MGB more versatile and practical, especially for musicians who want to use the Game Boy as a standalone musical instrument.
Thank you for your time and for considering this idea. I’m happy to collaborate if needed.
Best regards,
David
