@KyleGospo was framework kmod upstreamed? If not, is our version good to include?

Hi, @xlionjuan. I'm Dosu, and I'm helping the bluefin team manage their backlog. I'm marking this issue as stale.

Issue Summary:

  • You reported an issue with the ectool command on your Framework Laptop after upgrading to a non-fsync kernel.
  • The error involves I/O privileges and host communication while using the custom image bluefin-dx:latest.
  • User inffy noted that ectool functionality should be in kernel 6.11, but you confirmed the issue persists on kernel 6.11.4-301.fc41.x86_64.
  • User m2Giles suggested checking the status of the framework kmod, which might need inclusion if not upstreamed.

Next Steps:

  • Please confirm if this issue is still relevant with the latest version of the bluefin repository. If it is, you can keep the discussion open by commenting here.
  • If there is no further activity, this issue will be automatically closed in 14 days.

Thank you for your understanding and contribution!

I'm personally using CachyOS kernel with my custom image build, and I'm happy with it, and ectool is working, maybe it is because they have "back-ported patches from linux-next".

Back to the issue, now they have pinned the kernel to 6.11.8 at #2146 , after it got unpinned, I can test the Fedora official kernel.

Dosu, I think you can remove the "stale" tag.
