It's not broken as in "it doesn't do what it should" but as in:
what the hell are we supposed to use to read that ? No browser seems compatible with the CID protocol. But since people coded that function, I suppose they had a means to read this format, right ?

Thanks for your ansswer. Out of all archive formats, that clearly wasn't the most sensible option.
