AdGuardian Manual Installation Pack

The AdGuardian Manual Installation Pack provides users with the option to download the source code and manually install the adblocker in their web browsers by loading the unpacked extension. This guide will walk you through the steps to download the AdGuardian source code and install it on your preferred browser.

Prerequisites

Before proceeding with the manual installation, ensure that you have the following prerequisites:

  • A compatible web browser:
    • Mozilla Firefox
    • Opera
    • Microsoft Edge
  • Basic knowledge of how to load unpacked extensions in your browser.

Installation Steps

Follow the steps below to manually install AdGuardian using the source code:

  1. Visit the AdGuardian GitHub repository.

  2. Click on the "Code" button and select "Download ZIP" to download the source code as a ZIP archive.

  3. Extract the ZIP archive to a desired location on your computer.

  4. Open your web browser and access the extension management page. The location of this page may vary depending on your browser:

    • Mozilla Firefox: Type about:debugging in the address bar and press Enter. Then, click on "This Firefox" in the sidebar.

    • Opera: Type opera://extensions in the address bar and press Enter.

    • Microsoft Edge: Type edge://extensions in the address bar and press Enter.

  5. Enable developer mode or developer options in your browser's extension management page.

  6. Look for an option to load an unpacked extension or load an unpacked package. Click on it.

  7. Navigate to the extracted AdGuardian source code folder and select it.

  8. The browser will load the AdGuardian extension from the selected folder.

  9. AdGuardian should now be installed and activated in your browser. You should see the AdGuardian icon or relevant indicator in your browser's toolbar.

Please note that manually loaded extensions may not auto-update like extensions from official stores. You may need to repeat these steps periodically to update AdGuardian to the latest version.
