How to Find Your Crash Reports and Logs
This is a quick guide to help you find your Minecraft crash reports and logs. When you ask for help on our Discord server, we may ask you for these to help troubleshoot the issue you're facing.
-
Open your Minecraft launcher.
-
Click the "Installations" tab at the top
-
Find your Forge 1.8.9 installation in the list. You can click the "Modded" checkbox and use the search bar if you have a lot of installations. If the grey text below the installation name starts with "1.8.9-forge1.8.9", you'll know you've found the right one.
-
Click the 📁 icon beside the installation name. Your Minecraft folder will pop up.
-
Find the "crash-reports" folder in your Minecraft folder. All of your crash reports are stored in there.
-
If you're looking for logs, they are stored in the "logs" folder. Please note that the ones with file names ending in
.gz
are compressed, so you will need to extract them before being able to read them.
