First, you will need to start **Metro**, the JavaScript _bundler_ that ships _with_ React Native.
<!-- TABLE OF CONTENTS -->
<h2 id="table-of-contents"> :book: Table of Contents</h2>

To start Metro, run the following command from the _root_ of your React Native project:

<li><a href="#about-the-project"> ➤ About The Project</a></li>
<li><a href="#getting-started"> ➤ Getting Started</a></li>

</ol>
</details>

```bash
# using npm
npm start
# OR using Yarn
yarn start
```
<!-- ABOUT THE PROJECT -->
<h2 id="about-the-project"> :pencil: About The Project</h2>

## Step 2: Start your Application
<p align="justify">

Let Metro Bundler run in its _own_ terminal. Open a _new_ terminal from the _root_ of your React Native project. Run the following command to start your _Android_ or _iOS_ app:
StarGazers Viewer App is a mobile application that allows you to search for a GitHub user and it's repository and view its stargazers.
Built using React Native and TypeScript, the application uses the GitHub API with graphql to fetch the stargazers of a repository.

### For Android
</p>

```bash
# using npm
npm run android
![-----------------------------------------------------](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/andreasbm/readme/master/assets/lines/rainbow.png)
# OR using Yarn
yarn android
```
<!-- GETTING STARTED -->

### For iOS
Via GitHub Desktop clone this repository then to run the app, you need to have Node.js `v20.12.2` or higher installed on your system and Android Studio or XCode installed in your system.

```bash
# using npm
npm run ios
> [!WARNING]
> To run this project locally you need to create an `.env` file in the root of the project directory with following variables:
> ``` bash
> API_URL = https://api.github.com
> API_KEY = ${YOUR_GITHUB_TOKEN}
> ```
> You can create a personal Github token [here](https://github.com/settings/tokens?type=beta). Make sure to add `Read access to followers, starring, and watching` as permission.
# OR using Yarn
yarn ios
```
To run it locally, follow these steps:
If everything is set up _correctly_, you should see your new app running in your _Android Emulator_ or _iOS Simulator_ shortly provided you have set up your emulator/simulator correctly.
- Navigate to the project folder.
- Run the command `npm install` to install all the necessary dependencies.
- On ios, `cd ios && pod install && cd..`
- Run the command `npx react-native start` to start the app. From the cli now select the system to run.
This is one way to run your app — you can also run it directly from within Android Studio and Xcode respectively.
The app will install in your emulator/device.
## Step 3: Modifying your App
Now that you have successfully run the app, let's modify it.
![-----------------------------------------------------](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/andreasbm/readme/master/assets/lines/rainbow.png)
1. Open `App.tsx` in your text editor of choice and edit some lines.
2. For **Android**: Press the <kbd>R</kbd> key twice or select **"Reload"** from the **Developer Menu** (<kbd>Ctrl</kbd> + <kbd>M</kbd> (on Window and Linux) or <kbd>Cmd ⌘</kbd> + <kbd>M</kbd> (on macOS)) to see your changes!
For **iOS**: Hit <kbd>Cmd ⌘</kbd> + <kbd>R</kbd> in your iOS Simulator to reload the app and see your changes!
