Vuforia Engine 10.29.6 is available!

The Vuforia Engine team is happy to announce our newest version. Below are the key updates in this release. Check out the release notes for the complete list.
New Improvements:

  • Bug report (#149) has been fixed. The issue with a black screen on Android devices not using ARCore and not having full Camera2 API support has been fixed.
  • Simplification in the Model Target Generator has been improved. It now retains more details from large, highly complex models that enhance detection. Complex models can now be Simplified before importing them into Model Target Generator.
  • The Model Target CLI is now available for MacOS.

Notices:

Removed

  • The option to create Objects Targets (deprecated on July 21, 2024) in the Target Manager has been removed. Please use Scanned Model Targets instead.

Vuforia Engine 10.28.4 is Available!

The Vuforia Engine team is happy to announce our newest version. Below are the key updates in this release. Check out the release notes for the complete list.

New Improvements:

  • Bug (#160) is fixed. You can now generate VuMarks with your preferred Adobe Illustrator version, including v28.7.1.
  • The DEFAULT Tracking Mode now contains most of the benefits of the LOW_FEATURE_OBJECT Tracking Mode and should perform best for most objects.

Notices:

Deprecations

  • Support for ARMv7 builds on Android has been deprecated and will be removed in a future release. In Unity, make sure to use IL2CPP to build for ARM64 instead.
  • The Vuforia Engine 9.8 archive and resources will no longer be available on the Developer Portal. If you have specific concerns, please contact us. 

Minimum Versions

  • The minimum supported macOS version for Vuforia Engine tools and Unity play mode has been raised to 13 (Ventura).

New Improvements:

  • Feature request (#148) completed. Vuforia applications built with ARCore version 1.45 or higher now have access to Flash for ARCore-enabled Android devices with ARCore 1.45 or higher installed.
  • Tracking Model Targets has been improved. It should now be more robust and result in fewer inaccurate poses.

Notice:

Deprecations

  • The UVC Driver sample has been removed. To access USB cameras connected to Android devices, you can use the Android Camera2 API instead.
  • The E57 Converter tool for NavVis has been removed. Instead, you can use the Cloud Processing Add-on for NavVis IVION.

Vuforia Engine 10.22 is Available!

The Vuforia Engine team is happy to announce our newest version. Below are the key updates in this release. Please be sure to check out the release notes for the full list.

New Improvements:

  • Speed updates on Android: Engine apps running on Android may see faster performance, especially for older Android devices.
  • Refreshed Target Manager: A cleaner user experience and faster loading of image-based targets is now available for anyone using the Target Manager on the Engine Developer Portal.
  • Model Target Training Speed: When generating Advanced Model Targets, some trainings will see a speed up of up to 3 times faster, in particular for longer trainings.
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements

Notice:

  • Toolchain updates: The minimum recommendations for toolchains now include Android NDK 26 (Android 10+), and Visual Studio 2022.
  • Deprecation: Android 32bit support is now marked as deprecated and will be removed in a future version.
