Getting Started
An administrator planning to use the ADMU tool must have the following prerequisites:
- Windows 8.1, 10, 11 Systems
- Bound to an AD Domain or Entra ID (Azure AD) with a Domain or Entra ID (Azure AD) profile on the system.
- JumpCloud
- JumpCloud Tenant
- JumpCloud user to assign to system
Assuming a domain-bound Windows 10 system is to be managed by JumpCloud. An administrator can run the ADMU tool to migrate a domain user to a local account. The tool can also un-join the domain and install the JumpCloud agent. The ADMU was designed to help admins to migrate domain users to JumpCloud managed users.
For known issues and limitations, please see the Limitations of Account Conversion documentation.
The ADMU is distributed as both a GUI and PowerShell scripts. Administrators can run the ADMU on individual systems or migrate many systems at once using the PowerShell module version of the tool.
Documentation for the ADMU GUI is provided for individual migration scenarios.
The advanced deployment scenarios documentation is provided as a guiding light for mass deployment scenarios.
The tool only allows conversion of single user accounts per system, per run.
Given the case that multiple domain users on a single system are required to be migrated, it is possible to run the tool multiple times to convert any number of accounts.
In Version 2.7.0, there exists a button to rerun the application post-migration.
