This plugin is based on the Jitsi platform.

1. Overview

The Meet Plugin allows you to create, schedule, and join meetings directly from your AVideo platform. Once enabled, a Meet button will appear on the top menu, providing access to the Meet page, where you can manage meetings, start live streams, and more.

2. How to Use the Meet Plugin

2.1 Create a Meet

Once the plugin is enabled, you can create a meeting by:

  • Clicking the Meet button on the top menu, which will redirect you to the Meet Page.
  • On the Meet Page, you can either:
    • Create a new meet instantly by clicking the New Meet tab.
    • Schedule a future meet by using the Schedule tab.

If you are the meet owner and have the necessary live streaming permissions, you will see the Start Livestream button. This allows you to broadcast the meet live using your livestream configurations (Premium Servers Only).

2.2 How to Share a Meeting Link

Sharing a meeting link is straightforward:

  • Option 1: Copy the meeting link directly from the meeting panel.
  • Option 2: Copy the URL from your browser’s address bar.

If a user is not logged in, they will be prompted to enter their name before joining the meeting. If they are logged in, their site profile name and photo will be automatically used in the meeting.

6. Premium Servers

6.1 Benefits of Premium Servers

With Premium Servers, you don’t need to install Jitsi yourself. You can switch between servers for better performance, and we currently offer servers in North America and Europe, with more regions to be added soon.

Server selection

Premium Server Benefits:
  • All the features of your own Jitsi installation.
  • Ability to broadcast live directly to your AVideo platform.

7. Free/Public Servers

With free/public servers, you can host unlimited meetings. However, some restrictions apply:

  • Maximum participants per meet: Default is 30 participants.
  • Streamer services: Default allows 1 simultaneous livestreaming service.
  • Livestream time limit: Default is 30 minutes per livestream.

If you’re using free servers, there may be a 2-minute wait time if the server has to restart after being inactive.

8. Premium Server Packages

We offer two Premium Server packages:

  • $100/month: Use your own server.
  • $120/month: Use our managed server.

Both packages allow unlimited meetings without wait times, limited only by the server’s hardware capacity.

9. Custom Jitsi Installation

If you prefer to use your own Jitsi installation, we support it through Jitsi Docker. You can follow this tutorial to set up your custom Jitsi environment.
