RailEssentials provides a full AutoMode in which all locomotives are traveling autonomous and automatically, switches and signals are switches correctly for a save journey.
The following gif records shows the principals for using the AutoMode be directly assign any locomotive to a target block. The route is automatically selected and the journey is started. The feedback track elements (based on S88) are used to control when a locomotive is entering blocks and when they are reached the final destination within the block. That approach is similar to other modelrailway control softwares like RocRail.
