Audio

  • FiiO BTR7: portable Bluetooth DAC & Amplifier with balanced output. Wired USB DAC mode supports; native DSD up to DSD256, PCM 32bits up to 384kHz and MQA 8x Support.

Computer

Handheld

  • PowKiddy RGB30: handheld console with a 1:1 720p screen, ARM quad-core 1.8GHz CPU, LPDDR4 1GB and built-in 4100mA li-polymer battery. Super cool device and well supported by JELOS Linux.
  • Rabbit R1: neural network gadget that uses two models; a natural language processing model and an software interface model that allows actions to be made for your apps using your voice.

IoT

  • Tasmota: open source firmware for ESP devices.

Kubernetes

  • KEDA: KEDA is a Kubernetes-based Event Driven Autoscaler. With KEDA, you can drive the scaling of any container in Kubernetes based on the number of events needing to be processed.

Linux Distros

  • Daphile: is an audiophile class music server & player OS - targeted to dedicated headless PC.
  • JELOS: an immutable Linux distribution for handheld gaming devices.
  • OpenMediaVault: distribution designed for network-attached storage.
  • Pop!_OS: a very polished Ubuntu based distro for desktop, which includes a lot of enhancements, great graphic card hardware support and power management.
  • Ubuntu Core: for IoT and embedded environments, optimised for security and reliable ota updates. Great for running containers on a low powered device such as a NUC.

Local Container Images

  • Docker-OSX: run Mac OS X in Docker with near-native performance. A very interesting project.

Local Software

  • Lutris: play all your games on Linux; helps running Battle.net, Epic Games and other on a Linux machine.
  • Plexamp: completely custom music player for audiophiles. Integration available with Tidal and you can serve your own music from your Plex server.
  • TIDAL Hi-Fi: the web version of listen.tidal.com running in electron with Hi-Fi (High & Max) support thanks to widevine for you Linux machine.

Mobile Distros

  • LineageOS: an open-source Android distribution without the bloat.
  • postmarketOS: real Linux distribution for phones based on Alpine Linux.
  • Ubuntu Touch: is a mobile version of the Ubuntu operating system, being developed by the UBports community.

Server Container Images

  • Code-server: VS Code running in a container and accessible through the browser.
  • Lidarr: music collection manager, accessible through the browser.
  • Nextcloud: host your own Google Drive/iCloud, accessible through the browser and their apps
  • Overseerr: a request management and media discovery tool built to work with your existing Plex ecosystem.
  • Pi-hole: network-wide ad blocking, setting up a DNS server. Management through the browser.
  • Plex: stream your own movies and series like Netflix, accessible through the browser and their apps.
  • Prowlarr: index manager, accessible through the browser.
  • Radarr: movie collection manager, accessible through the browser.
  • Readarr: book manager, accessible through the browser. Note, still a work in progress last checked on 2024/01/17.
  • Sonarr: series collection manager, accessible through the browser.
  • Transmission: web version of the popular torrent client.
  • VSCodium: is a community-driven, freely-licensed binary distribution of Microsoft’s editor VS Code that runs in a container and accessible through the browser.
  • Watchtower: automates container base image updates.

Server Software

Provides interface normally through the browser, ideal for headless machine:

  • Grafana: is the open source analytics & monitoring solution for every database that you can host on your machine.
  • Homebridge: allows you to integrate with smart home devices that do not natively support HomeKit.
  • Kasm Workspaces: streaming containerized apps and desktops to end-users. Offers community edition.

Sites

  • AniChart: great site for viewing the latest anime releases for the current season and past ones.
  • Ars Technica: is a website covering news and opinions in technology, science, politics, and society.
  • ExtremeTech: is a technology weblog, launched in June 2001, which focuses on hardware, computer software, science and other technologies.
  • Liliputing: covering mobile tech news, tips and reviews with a focus on smartphones, tablets, notebook, and handheld computers as well as tiny desktop PCs.
  • LinuxServer.io: optimised, frequently updated community maintained container images.

Software as a Service (SaaS)

  • gitignore.io: quickly generate .gitignore file for your project.
  • Feedly: news aggregator application for various web browsers and mobile devices running iOS and Android.
  • Markdown Table Generator
  • No-IP: offers a couple of services, but great for Dynamic DNS for your home router.
  • Playcode: browser base JavaScript playground and sandbox to write, run and repl it.
  • Source Making: site focused on good software architecture by exploring design parterns, anti-patterns, refactoring and uml.

Software Frameworks

  • NestJS: is a framework for building efficient, scalable Node.js server-side applications.
