Getting started

To use wtherion, just open any modern browser and go to this link. Only desktop platforms are supported.

Import a TH2 file

If you want to edit an existing TH2 drawing, you can import it to wtherion in the main menu. Click the hamburger menu icon > Import > TH2.

If you have any XVI files associated in the TH2 file, you will be prompted to open them. The offsets stored in the file will be used, but they are not accurate. You will most likely have to correct the positions of the XVI graphics after import.

Images associated in the TH2 file are ignored. If you have any images you want to use, reimport them.

Import images

Raster images are supported in wtherion in GIF, JPEG and PNG formats. You can import them with main menu > Import > Image. Be aware that unlike XTherion, these files will not update if their sources change. These are stored inside the project files, and will always stay the same after importing, even if the original files are changed, moved or deleted.

Start editing

Use the tools from the toolbar on the top left corner of the screen to create or make changes to objects in your project.

For more information, look at the Tools reference.

If you have multiple scraps in your project, only the currently selected scrap is editable. You can select scraps and hide the ones not in use in the Scraps panel which you can open from the Scrap menu.

Saving and opening projects

The recommended way to persist your projects is to save them as wtherion project files. If you always export and import TH2 files instead, some information may be lost in the process and you will also have to open your XVI or image files every time.

This app can store all your project files in the browser so you don't have to worry about managing your wtherion files. If your clear your browser cache, these files may be deleted. Saves are not accessible across different browsers or machines.

If you save the project with main menu > Save, you can name the save which will be created. This will create a save in your browser. You can later come back and use main menu > Open, which lists all saves present in this browser. You can also delete saves here.

If you would like to transfer your projects, open any save and use main menu > Other exports > Download save which will give you a JSON file. Import this in wtherion with main menu > Import > JSON.

Export as TH2

If you are done with the changes you want to make in whterion, or you wish to preview your project, use main menu > Export to create a TH2 file.

For Chromium browsers

If you are using a Chromium browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge), you will be able to set an export location once, then keep using that location for export. To change to a new location, use main menu > Export as.

Other browsers

You will have to set the location each time you export your project. If you set your browser settings to prompt for each downloaded file and ask for the save location, you will be able to select and replace your existing TH2 file in your Therion folder.
