Altium introduced its Default Stroke font as
A simple vector font designed for pen plotting and vector photo plotting
Obviously This typeface has some desirable features -- No sharp corners, equal width. Overall speaking, it is a functional font that is reliable to use in PCB designs, either for the silkscreen layer or copper layer. In this section, I am listing a number of fonts, free or commercial, that functions similarly to the Default Stroke. My Criteria is as follows:
- Clean & legible
- No sharp corners
- Equal Width
- Monospaced
A “contemporary” slab serif typeface for text, it is specially designed for comfortably reading on any computer or device. The robust design started from the austerity of the pixel grid, based on rational rather than emotional principles. It combines the large x-heights and legibility of the humanistic tradition with subtle characteristics in the characters that inject a certain rhythm to flowing texts.
TT Lakes Neue is a simple and functional sans-serif that draws inspiration from Finnish signs of the functionalism era.
