Wiki for Bang Wallpaper Plus

Bang Wallpaper Plus downloads the latest bing wallpaper automatically at startup. The wallpaper is then displayed on your desktop.

2. Installation

Installation should be straight-forward and does not require admin privileges.

1. Download the executable.
2. Run the installer.
3. No admin priviledges should be required for installation.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
5. Upon completion, you are asked whether to run Bang Wallpaper Plus.

3. Uninstall

Bang Wallpaper Plus comes with an uninstall routine that runs without admin privileges.

1. Open the folder with Bang Wallpaper Plus on your computer.
2. Double-click on uninstall.exe.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

4. Settings

Bang Wallpaper Plus from version 1.1 displays a box with host information such as hostname, IP, username. You may disable this feature as follows:

1. On your computer, press the start button.
2. Navigate to the programs and to Bang Wallpaper Plus.
3. Left-click on settings, a dialog with settings for Bang Wallpaper Plus will now open.
4. Uncheck the tick box display host info.
5. Press OK.
6. In the start menu folder left-click on Bang Wallpaper Plus.

You may as well change settings for Bang Wallpaper Plus by editing a configuration file. The procedure works as follows:

1. Open the folder with Bang Wallpaper Plus on your computer.
2. Right-click on the file bang.ini.
3. Open bang.ini with an editor (such as notepad or wordpad).
4. If you want to dispense with host information, the entry in the line hostinfo=yes will have to change to hostinfo=no.
5. If you look for an alternate image source, the entry in the line source=bing will have to change to source=heise. Note that heise as an image source is considered experimental.
6. Save your changes.
7. Close the file bang.ini.
8. Your changes will take effect the next time you run Bang Wallpaper Plus.
