Non override Category Totals
We have added an Administrative option that disables grade category manual overrides. In our experience, we found that instructors shot themselves in the foot by overriding the category total, and then wondered why the total no longer calculated grades correctly. By disabling the override, instructors relied on the gradebook to aggregate grades in a consistent manner (extra credit and curves), and the confusion dissipated.
The option defaults to original Moodle behavior: allowing category overrides.
The new Administrative option can be appropriately found under Site Administration -> Grades -> Grade category settings.
