Carmarthenshire landslide
We came up with the idea of a traffic light management utility after many new roadworks were creating a burden on traffic in our area of Wales, after the devastating storms of autumn of 2018.
What we noticed from these roadworks is that we would be waiting at the lights while they were red while there were no cars passing in the opposite direction. This gave us the inspiration to try and make improvements on this current system.

The idea of the software is to feed it information about the roadwork environment (such as the distance between the lights, how busy the road is, speed limits etc.) and for it to calculate the optimum timings for the traffic lights using simulations.
To accomplish this, we decided to research into the many factors that contribute to different conditions at a traffic light system. This ultimately allowed us to create accurate simulations. We are confident that these findings will help to create a significant improvement.
