Design system backlog

We have a design system backlog on GitHub to help us and other teams track the history and progress of all NHS App design styles, components and patterns.

Adding an item to the backlog

We create a GitHub issue for each item in the backlog, including:

• a short description
• examples of where it us being used
• related information, for example, a discussion in the GOV.UK community backlog or NHS design system community backlog

We assign labels to identify what the item is (style, component or pattern) and also the teams working on it.

We then add the item to the project board ready to be reviewed and prioritised.
