I got stuck in midroll hell again

Which browser and stuck how exactly? Frozen player? Infinite loop?

Personally with video-swap-new the player goes black during the mid-roll.

After the ad is complete, it doesn't seem to recover correctly, either staying black forever, playing the stream with no audio, or once today failing completely and saying the channel was offline. All 3 require refreshing the player to recover, with the potential of just going back into more black screen ads.

Just that it dropped me into midrolls again. In a channel where the person doesn't run midrolls, nor is big enough to get disruptive midrolls, nor was playing a game that is popular enough to get midrolls. I got a suspicion it didn't do the reload player after the preroll and that might be the trigger to this.

Update 1: it seems that jumping from a channel to another without reloading the tab might be the cause for it, since I jumped from "megagwolf" to following/live to "megamarino" and was put into the midroll screen instead of the preroll screen.

Update 2: NEVERMIND, it really FAILS to dispose of midrolls.

If there were a way to use something like the android app + blokada but on the browser it would be guaranteed to work...

@TsukiZero that is probably picture by picture but broken due to the script https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/picture-by-picture-ads?language=en_US

I'm looking for a channel which runs 24/7 and forces midroll ads at the shortest interval possible so that I can test them properly.

IIRC, SaltyBet runs midrolls automatically ("thanks" twitch) and manually (during "changing game mode")

Tacking onto this, video-swap-new gives some strange latency results. After the blocking/"preparing your stream" segment, I often end up with large negative latency(!) values being displayed, such as -55 seconds. If I then refresh the player, sometimes I can bring it down to a lower value, but, often, even if there is no blocking occurring upon refresh, I still end up with this large negative(!) value.
