knulli-h700-rg35xx-sp-20240711-UNOFFICIAL
Hinge support seems to be one of the most requested features for Knulli on the RG35XX-SP at the moment. It certainly was mine, and I didn't want to wait any longer :-p So here is my UNOFFICIAL build of Knulli with support for the SP's lid sensor.
This is based on Knulli's current main branch with the following changes:
- Device suspends when the lid is closed and wakes up when it is opened.
- Long pressing the power button shuts down the device as normal, short pressing does nothing (usually, see known issues below).
- It uses the stock kernel from Anbernic's official SP firmware which may or may not work on other models of the RG35XX line. Unfortunately I do not have another device to test this.
Known issues:
- When the lid is closed, pressing the power button or plugging in a USB cable briefly wakes up the device (suspends again after about a second). Not sure if there is an easy fix for this.
- Buttons are mapped incorrectly and need to be remapped once after installation (see below).
Installation:
- Since this is a test build, I recommend flashing to a separate SD card. The process is the same as for any official Knulli image.
- Fix the incorrect button mapping. To get to the remap menu, press: Start, L2, A, A, then remap your controls. This needs to be done only once.
- If you are already using Knulli with a two-card setup, your game library and settings on the second card (including WiFi, RetroAchievements, themes, etc.) should carry over without issues. Simply select your second SD card under System Settings -> Storage Device, reboot, and everything should be set up. Big shoutouts to the devs of Knulli and Batocera for making this such a seamless experience.
Changelog:
- Improve power button behavior.
