Step 0

Assuming that there is already a bunch of references and annotations in Zotero 😂

Step 1

Download Obsidian

Step 2

Download and enable Better BibTeX for Zotero in Zotero

Step 3

Set up Obsidian folders and a file

  • Make folders named "Templates" and "Inputs" inside "Templates"
  • Another folders to make outside "Templates" are "Inbox" and "Images"
  • Place this "paper" file in "Inputs"

Step 4

Set up Obsidian plugin

  • Download Zotero Integration from community plugins (just search it in Obsidian!)

Step 5

  • Press cmd-p (for Mac guys) and chose "Zotero Integration: Create Literature Note"
  • Type the paper's title in the pop-up Zotero search bar
  • You will get a markdown file named with a unique citekey like this below

Step 6

You can refer to the file key in Obsidian like this
