Importing a new WPMS Dump

  1. Login to maji.go.tz and export all the waterpoints for each region (one by one)
  2. Load all the region xls files into openrefine
  3. Apply the scripts/openrefine.json file and save as a new file ("the refined file")
  4. Download the ward boundaries from the geonode
  5. Use QGIS to do a spatial join between both files (adding to the waterpoints file, note waterpoints are in Arc1960)
  6. Save the joined csv file to a new file ("the joined file")
  7. Copy the district name/code, region code, ward code columns from the joined file to the refined file. This is the final file.
  8. Follow the setup instructions as normal

Note: At the time of writing the join results in 164 waterpoints not being able to be joined properly (have null values for the district/region/ward code fields) as the fall outside the ward boundaries. This causes problems in the web app. You can easily remove them using open refine until a final solution is found.
