The Orange Cartridge can be used with or without a case. Using a case makes insertion and extraction easier, and also helps prevent vertical movement of the board when pressing the button or performing other manual operations. There are two options, either 3D print a case from scratch, or modify a standard case to create the necessary apertures.

3D printed cases

The following two cases for 3D printing both exist in versions with and without additional openings for RR-Net.

Case with screw

This case uses a screw to hold it together, like injection molded cases do. OpenSCAD source code is available. DSC_0264

Snap-fit case

This case instead uses snap-fit latches. A support spacer for use with RR-Net Mk 3 is also provided. DSC_0265

Modified standard case

The Orange Cartridge PCB has a screw hole placed so that it is compatible with German standard cartridge cases. Some holes will need to be opened up to accomodate the button, LED and connectors (USB and SDcard, unless RRNet is also used). For the button and LED holes, use a 5.5 mm drill. The connector openings can be created with a file or a rotary tool (Dremel).
