What:

Fourteen DaSH events have been held since September 2014, the most recent in Oklahoma City, OK, in September 2024.

A two day hackathon will be held in Utrecht, Netherlands, from Thursday 10th to Friday 11th October 2024. This is the first DaSH in Europe since 2017. This DaSH is the second in 2024, following the American one in September, and is intended to make it easier for European colleagues to attend.

This event is being organized by Eric Spierings, Ben Matern and the NMDP team (Martin Maiers and Michael Wright).

This event happens immediately after the Society for Immune Polymorphism’s symposium in Sassenheim on the Evolution and Characterization of the Immune System, and because some will attend both, transport will be arranged between the two sites.

The main topics of this hackathon are as follows.

  • To further develop an HLA Antibody (HAML) format
  • Try to formalize epitope nomenclature
  • Create a structure to curate and refer to haplotype frequencies.

This focus does not preclude people coming and working on their own topic in a room of like-minded people. Due to the interactive and collaborative nature of this event there will not be an online option.

How:

If you wish to attend please send an email to Michael Wright. For further details: Please contact Michael Wright, or Martin Maiers.
